EPL: All stars aligned for Liverpool – Troy Deeney on title race

Watford legend Troy Deeney has tipped Liverpool to win the Premier League title this season ahead of Arsenal, Manchester City, and Nottingham Forest.

According to Deeney, all the stars have aligned for Liverpool to claim the English top-flight league this term.

He noted that Arsenal are not going to close the 11-point gap that Liverpool recently opened after beating Man City 2-0 on Sunday.

Deeney also insisted that Man City are in disarray, while Nottingham Forest are falling away.

Liverpool are at the top of the Premier League table, eleven points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Nottingham Forest and City sit in third and fourth place, respectively, in the standings.

Speaking after Liverpool defeated City at the Etihad Stadium, Deeney said on BBC’s Match of the Day 2:

“I don’t see how Arsenal are going to close the gap without a striker, Manchester City are in disarray, and Nottingham Forest are falling away.

“It seems like all the stars have aligned, and it is there for Liverpool. Arne Slot knows what it is like to see these things through, so I just think there is no way they are going to lose this.

“They have lost one game all season – how are they going to lose four games now and allow Arsenal to get over the line? I just can’t see it.”
