Egbefo said a total of 430 students would be graduating from the institution, out of which 14 bagged First Class.

He added that an additional 140 graduates would receive various Postgraduate degrees, including 20 that would be awarded Doctor of Philosophy degrees in different fields.

He also disclosed that an honorary award degree would be bestowed on the former Governor of the State, Adams Oshiomhole, now a senator representing Edo North senatorial district and Vincent Agenmomen, Chairman, Freedom Group of companies.

The Acting Vice Chancellor said the duo would be honoured with precognition for their illustrious careers and contributions to the development of Edo State and in Nigeria.

He also added that the institution maintained its policy of awarding N5 million to the graduating students with the best entrepreneurial business ideas.

He said the school is in collaboration with Nigerian Independent Petroleum Company, NIPCO, and the Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas to offer students meaningful industrial educational experiences.

Egbefo explained that the university would continue to support activities to improve academic achievement while making beneficial societal contributions.

The Acting Vice Chancellor, however, commended the Edo State Government for installing optic fibre cable broadband across the university for internet services.

According to him, the installation of the broadband internet services around the campuses was to provide fast transmission of data to the academics, staff members and students.

“Provision of the internet is a crucial part of the structure of an institution of higher learning across the world”, he said.
