Why I chose Canada ahead of Super Eagles – David

Union Saint-Gillloise striker, Promise David has given reason behind his decision to change international allegiance from Nigeria to Canada.

David was born in Canada to Nigerian parents.

The forward has represented Nigeria twice at the U-23 level.

The former FC Tulsa player has now applied to play for Canada at full international level.

“Canadian football raised me. So I feel like I owe it back to Canada to perform for them,” David told The Athletic.

He has scored 13 goals across all competitions for Union Saint-Gillloise this season.
