Over my dead body – Arteta refuses to give up on EPL title despite 11-point gap

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has insisted that he won’t give up on the Premier League title until it’s mathematically impossible.

The Gunners go into the midweek fixtures 11 points behind leaders Liverpool.

Arteta’s men lost 1-0 at home to West Ham, squandering the chance to close the gap to five points.

The Reds then took full advantage with a 2-0 victory over Manchester City.

Arsenal’s next game is against Nottingham Forest, who are six points behind them.

During his press conference on Tuesday, Arteta was asked if the title race was over.

He replied: “Over my dead body.

“If I stop believing, I will go home. Mathematically, it is possible.

“If you want to win the Premier League, then you’ll have to do something special.

“If you want to win the Premier League with the circumstances we have, you probably have to do something nobody has done in the history of the Premier League.”
