Rio Ferdinand picks match that has confirmed Liverpool as EPL champions

Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand, has claimed that Liverpool’s 2-0 win at Manchester City confirmed them as Premier League champions.

It was a potentially decisive round of fixtures last weekend.

Arsenal lost 1-0 to West Ham at the Emirates, before the Reds took all three points at the Etihad.

That victory took Arne Slot’s men 11 points clear at the top of the table.

Ferdinand, who won the league six times, believes that result may have wrapped things up for Liverpool.

Speaking on TNT Sports, he said: “Everyone’s looking up at the table and looking up at Liverpool, unfortunately.

“I think there are games in the season where you look back and go ‘that was the one that set the tone and put a nail in the coffin of all the opponents and took the confidence and life out of all the people chasing’.

“I think that was the game. I think that will go down as a poignant game in the season.”
