Naira continues appreciation against dollar across official, black markets

The naira continued its appreciation against the dollar and other foreign currencies across official and parallel foreign exchange markets on Tuesday.

Similarly, at the black market, the Naira appreciated to N1,485 per dollar on Tuesday from N1,500 traded on Monday.

A Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4 Abuja, Abubakar Alhasan, confirmed this FX figure to Media Talk Africa on Tuesday.

This means that the Naira gained N15 against the dollar on Tuesday compared to N1,500 exchanged on Monday.

Similarly, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s official FX data showed that the Naira strengthened to N1,495.91 against the dollar on Tuesday from N1,497.11 exchanged on Monday.

This showed that the Naira recorded a marginal N1.2 gain against the dollar on Tuesday compared to N1,497.11.

Recall that on Monday, the Naira also recorded a gain against the dollar across FX markets.
