Buffy the Vampire Slayer star Michelle Trachtenberg dead at 39

Michelle Trachtenberg, star of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, has died.

Fox News reports that the 39-year-old actress was found dead in a New York City apartment. Authorities discovered Trachtenberg at a residence after responding to a 911 call at around 8 a.m. local time.

According to the New York Police Department, she was unconscious and unresponsive. Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and the cause will be determined by the medical examiner.

Police sources disclosed that Trachtenberg had recently undergone a liver transplant and may have been experiencing complications.

Her representative also confirmed her passing. “The family requests privacy for their loss,” Gary Mantoosh told Fox News Digital. “There are no further details at this time.”

Trachtenberg began her career on Nickelodeon’s The Adventures of Pete & Pete and made her film debut in 1996 as the title character in Harriet the Spy. She later gained prominence as Dawn Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a role she played for three years before the series concluded in 2003.

Despite rising to fame at a young age, education remained important to Trachtenberg throughout her career.
