‘It’s my ultimate goal’ – Troost-Ekong keen to win AFCON title

Super Eagles captain, William Troost-Ekong, says winning the Africa Cup of Nations title remains his priority.

Troost-Ekong won bronze medal in his maiden appearance at the competition in Egypt 2019.

The centre-back came second at the last edition in Cote d’Ivoire, losing 2-1 to hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final.

Troost-Ekong scored three times in Cote d’Ivoire and also won the Player of the Tournament prize.

The former Watford players is looking forward to laying his hands on the trophy in Morocco 2025.

“I’ve been there three times now. bronze medal, silver medal but I haven’t had the chance to win it, so that’s my ultimate goal and that’s how much it means to me and to all the kids growing up in Africa and Nigeria,” he told talkSPORT.
