United States of America Representative, William Timmons said President Donald Trump and Elon Musk are bringing transparency to every corner of government.
In a video reposted by Musk on X on Thursday, Rep. Timmon made known in his remarks on the Department of Government Efficiency Committee.
Timmons, a Republican lawmaker from South Carolina, explained that Musk’s duty goes beyond the US International Development Agency but across board, noting that that is what the American people want.
“President Trump, through Elon Musk, is bringing transparency to every corner of government.
“Musk has been asked to serve, ensuring accountability not just at USAID, but across the board—because that’s what the American people want in 2025,” he said.
Media Talk Africa reports that DOGE led by Musk has continued its cost-cutting efforts across US federal agencies, including health, education, the Treasury Department, and defence.
Earlier, on Wednesday, President Trump had his first cabinet meeting since his inauguration on January 20, 2025, with Musk, his adviser, in attendance.
At the meeting, Trump tapped Musk to speak on the progress made on DOGE cost-cutting efforts.
Musk said, “I actually just call myself a humble tech support hero.
“As crazy as it sounds, that is almost a literal description of the work of the DOGE team: what they are doing is helping fix the government computer systems.”.
He explained the recent email to workers to provide their ‘last week’s work accomplishment’ was a pulse check review rather than a performance review.
