I’m honoured – Rosicky clears air on receiving offer to rejoin Arsenal

Former Arsenal player, Tomas Rosicky has responded to speculation he has received an offer to rejoin the Gunners as their sporting director.

Arsenal are still reeling from Edu’s shock departure from the club last November.

The Premier League North London club are hoping to appoint his replacement as early as next month.

Real Sociedad’s Roberto Olabe is considered to be the frontrunner but the likes of l Rosicky, Dan Ashworth, who recently left Manchester United, and Andrea Berta are also said to be in the frame.

Jason Ayto has been holding fort on an interim basis at the moment.

Speaking on the development, Rosicky told Livesport Daily podcast that he was honoured to be considered for the role.

“So the reality is simple. My connection with Arsenal is natural because I spent 10 years there, and when you spend 10 years somewhere you form a strong, very strong bond,” Rosicky said.

“So I have this strong bond with Arsenal and I have a strong bond with Sparta Prague.

“Those are the two clubs that I love football-wise because I have a warm relationship with them.”

“I am honoured by the fact that I am even being considered by Arsenal’s management, but I I can say that I don’t have any offer to go to Arsenal.”

He added, “I’m aware that I’m on their radar or I figure in their considerations in some capacity, but I haven’t received any offer.”
