Scotland: Rangers boss gives positive injury update on Balogun

Rangers interim manager Barry Ferguson has provided a positive injury update on Leon Balogun ahead of his side’s clash with Motherwell.

Balogun last featured for the Light Blues in the UEFA Europa League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford last month.

The 36-year-old was substituted at half-time, with Ross McCausland replacing him.

The centre-back is now in contention to make his return in Saturday’s clash with Motherwell at Ibrox.

“Balogun, Souttar and Sterling trained today – we just need to see their reactions after training. It was great to have them back, and I will check in with the medical team in the morning,” Ferguson told a press conference on Friday.

The Nigerian defender has scored once in 13 league appearances for Rangers this season.
