PDP loses more members to LP in Abia

More than 2,000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Isialangwa South LGA of Abia State led by their Ward Chairmen, have defected to the Labour Party in solidarity with the member representing Isiala Ngwa South constituency, Rowland Dennis, who recently dumped the PDP.

The PDP members who were recieved into the LP by Governor Alex Otti, were presented with their new party flags by the LP Chairman of Isiala Ngwa South, Smart Ogbonna.

Receiving the new members, Otti described the Labour Party as an inclusive platform open to all Nigerians and committed to good governance.

He thanked the legislator for bringing a multitude of his people into LP and assured the new members that they would not suffer discrimination but enjoy the same status with those who joined long ago.

The Governor emphasized that his administration was focused on serving the poor and less privileged by delivering democracy dividends to the people.

Governor Otti, who dismissed speculations that Hon. Dennis’ defection was linked to the 2027 elections, said that he was not concerned about future political contests but remained dedicated to fulfilling his mandate.

Speaking, Hon Dennis said that he was attracted to join the Labour Party because of the performance of the Governor across the State.
