Sarkin Sasa, chairman of northern chiefs in southern Nigeria, dies at 125

The Sarkin Sasa in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, Alhaji Haruna Maiyasin Katsina is dead.

Media Talk Africa reports that the Sarkin died on Saturday at the age of 125.

Katsina until his death was the Chairman, Council of Arewa Traditional Rulers in all the 17 southern states of Nigeria.

Our correspondent reports that Sasa is located in Akinyele local government area of Oyo State.

It is one of the settlements dominated by Hausas from the northern part of the country.
