Former Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has expressed displeasure over the club’s decision to allow one of their best players leave the club.
United appear not to have found a replacement for Scott McTominay who they sold to Napoli for £25m
last summer.
The midfield has continued in fine form at the Italian side, registering seven goals and four assists from 27 games.
He is now a mainstay under Antonio Conte and has taken the Italian club to second place in the league table.
As the Scottish midfielder shines in Italy, Manchester United have struggled of late, finding life difficult under new boss, Ruben Amorim.
While they are sitting 14th in the Premier League after 27 games, the Red Devils also crashed out of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Amorim’s side were beaten 4-3 on penalties by Fulham.
Solskjaer, a club legend who was also sacked as manager at Old Trafford, told The Athletic that it was good to see Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire doing well.
“When I can [I watch United play], it’s still good to see Bruno Fernandes and Harry [Maguire] doing well. And Scotty is doing well at Napoli.
“I’m upset that we let him go because he was important last season when he kept popping up with goals. His heart and his knowledge of the culture were important,” said Solskjaer.
During his stay at Old Trafford, Scott McTominay played 115 games for the Red Devils under Solskjaer, registering 14 goals and three assists.
