It’s easy to be a pundit – Amorim hits back at Rooney after FA Cup exit

Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has hit back at Wayne Rooney’s suggestion that he’s “naive”.

The Red Devils were eliminated by Fulham on Sunday night via a penalty shoot-out.

Calvin Bassey had given the visitors the lead, before Bruno Fernandes equalized for United.

After the match, Amorim told reporters that his aim was to win the Premier League at Old Trafford.

Rooney, who was working as a pundit on the BBC, described Amorim’s claim was “naive”.

But Amorim hit back at the former United striker, saying it is was “easy” to speak from a TV studio.

“[The Premier League] is the goal,” Amorim said.

“Being naive is to think we are going to do it this season or be the best contender next season. So I know that in this moment everybody knows everything.

“I know that and it’s really easy – I was a pundit when I finished my career. I know it’s really easy.”
