NPFL: Enyimba dedicate win at Tornadoes to injured Ihemekwele

Enyimba have dedicated their 1-0 win at Niger Tornadoes to their injured forward, Ifeanyi Ihemekwele.

Bulky striker, Joseph Atule scored the winning goal for the two-time African champions two minutes after the hour mark.

It was the Aba giants’ third away win of the season.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Enyimba beat Heartland and Lobi Stars on the road earlier in the campaign.

Ihemekwele sustained an injury in Enyimba’s Abia State Federation Cup final with Ahudiya last month.

The forward, who has scored five league goals for the People’s Elephant this season is expected to be sidelined for around eight weeks.

“Dear Ifeanyi Ihemekwele, this victory is a testament to your strength and we’re sending you our best wishes for a swift and full recovery,” Enyimba wrote on their Facebook page.
