Former Lagos Guber candidate, Jandor dumps PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, candidate for the Lagos State Governorship election in 2023, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor has resigned from the party.

Jandor made his resignation known on Monday during a media briefing at his Ikeja office in Lagos.

He, however, failed to disclose his future political plans or the reasons for dumping the main operation party.

There are, however, indications that the former governorship candidate may be returning to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Media Talk Africa reports that prior to joining the PDP, Jandor was a member of APC and led the Lagos4Lagos Movement, advocating for internal democracy within the APC.

Jandor, however, defected to the PDP in January 2022 as part of moves to secure the party’s gubernatorial ticket for the last election.

In that election, he finished third, behind the incumbent Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the APC and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party.
