Niger Assembly passes Rail-Line Corporation Bill

The Niger State House of Assembly has passed a private member’s bill to establish the Niger State Rail-Line Corporation to enhance the state’s transportation infrastructure.

The move is part of the New Niger Agenda, aimed at reducing the burden on roads and providing an alternative, more affordable means of transporting goods and services.

The bill was presented by the Joint Committees on Transport and Judiciary and Legal Matters, chaired by Hon. Ahmed Mohammed.

The Deputy Speaker, Hon. Afiniki Eunice Dauda, commended the joint committees for their efforts and directed the Clerk of the House to transmit the bill to the Executive for assent.

The House also passed a private member’s bill to amend the Niger State College of Education Law, 2011, renaming the institution Dr Umar Sanda Ahmadu College of Education, Minna.
