NWFL: Shaibu reveals Edo Queens target for the season

Edo Queens boss, Philip Shaibu has reiterated the club’s desire to replicate the impressive record of Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side, Bendel Insurance in the 2022-23 season.

Media Talk Africa recalls that Bendel Insurance recorded 26-game unbeaten run in all competitions two years ago.

Shaibu stated that Edo Queens target is to defend the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title and play on the continent.

Edo Queens are yet to taste defeat in the 2025 NWFL season.

“Having won the NWFL title last season and remaining unbeaten so far this term, Edo Queens are determined to replicate the invincible record of their male counterparts, Bendel Insurance FC.

“Our target is to win the league again this year and make a strong return to the continent.

“The girls have gone unbeaten in the first stanza of the league, and I am praying they sustain this form until the end. Our goal is to qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League and, this time, win the title for Nigeria,” Shaibu told Completesports.
