Ukraine: Zelenskyy’s rivals reject elections after alleged secret talk with Trump ally

At least two political rivals of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have declared that they are not in support of elections taking place while the war with Russia is ongoing, Newsweek reports.

Politico earlier reported that Yuliia Tymoshenko and senior members of Petro Poroshenko’s party met with close allies of President Donald Trump of the United States.

According to the report, the alleged secret meeting was centred on how quickly Ukraine could hold elections amid the ongoing war with Russia.

It was reported that four senior members of Trump’s entourage held discussions with some of Zelenskyy’s top political opponents regarding the election.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy on Thursday confirmed a devastating attack by Russia in Kryvyi Rih where about four persons were killed and 30 others injured.
