Ukraine, Russia conflict proxy war between nuclear powers — US Secretary Rubio

The United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, has admitted that the three-year-long war between Ukraine and Russian is a proxy war between nuclear powers.

Rubio made this statement during an interview on Fox News on Wednesday.

He commented on President Donald Trump’s stance amid efforts to broker peace between Ukraine and Russia.

He noted that the war had to come to an end.

Rubio, however, expressed worries that there is no plan to bring the war to an end.

“It is clear from the beginning that President Trump viewed the protracted conflict as frankly a proxy war between nuclear powers, the US helping Ukraine and Russia.

“It needs to come to an end. And no one has any plans to bring it to an end, “Rubio said.

The US paused its military assistance to Ukraine after a peace deal between Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky hit the rocks last Friday.

Zelensky, in a recent move, has indicated a plan to recommence peace talks with the US as both Ukraine and Russia continue offensive attacks.
