Amorim’s wife unhappy in Manchester

Maria João Diogo, the wife of Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim, is reportedly unhappy with her life after swapping Lisbon for Manchester, according to The Sun.

She married Amorim in 2013 and moved to England with their two children after he replaced Erik ten Hag in November.

However, Maria has struggled to adjust to life in the north-west of England.

There are reports from the United training ground that Maria— a successful interior designer and businesswoman in her own right— is finding it difficult to settle in Manchester due to the rain, wind, and dark nights.

She is not the first partner of a player or staff member at the club to express dissatisfaction with the city.

Ángel Di María spent only 11 months at Old Trafford after joining for £59.7m from Real Madrid in 2014, but that was enough time for his wife, Jorgelina Cardoso, to form an unfavourable opinion of Manchester.
