EPL: Aina credits Nottingham Forest fans for Man City win

Ola Aina has said the lively atmosphere at the City Ground played a crucial role in Nottingham Forest’s stunning victory over Manchester City.

Nuno Espírito Santo’s side claimed a surprise 1-0 win over Pep Guardiola’s men on Saturday.

Former Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the winning goal seven minutes from time.

Aina said it is always important for the supporters to get behind the team, whether they are winning or not.

“A group like us, we need it—the lively atmosphere keeps the positivity going, whether we get the results or not,” the Nigeria international said after the game.

“It maintains a positive mindset in and around the training ground and within the team. Him (Callum Hudson-Odoi), myself—we make sure that the energy is always high.”

Aina, who made his 50th appearance for Forest in the match, put in a solid display.

He has scored twice for Nuno Espírito Santo’s side this season.
