EPL: I loved playing with him – Welbeck snubs Ronaldo, names his best strike partner

Former Manchester United striker, Danny Welbeck has snubbed Cristiano Ronaldo and named former Arsenal attacker, Olivier Giroud as the best striker he ever played with.

Welbeck, who is currently playing for Brighton, played for Man United and Arsenal earlier in his career.

The 34-year-old scored the winner in last weekend’s FA Cup win against Newcastle.

Welbeck played alongside several great attackers, including Ronaldo, Giroud and Dimitar Berbatov.

“I didn’t play as many games with him [Ronaldo] but I still got to play with him and train with him for a couple of years and that was so special,” Welbeck told Sky Sports.

“Berbatov was quietly confident and knew how good he was.

“Olivier [Giroud] I loved playing alongside him it worked really well together. He was a top, top class centre forward and good strike partner to play with.”

Welbeck and Giroud were former teammates at Arsenal.
