War: Putin has no interest in peace – EU reacts to Russia’s bombardment of Ukraine

The European Union foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, has said that Russian President, Vladimir Putin has no interest in peace.

According to her, Russian “relentless” drone and missile attacks meant that Putin had no peace in mind even as talks to possibly end the war are underway.

Russia over the weekend launched what has been described as a devastating attack on cities in Ukraine as it intensified its bombardment of its neighbour.

Video shows a terrifying explosion of the centre of Dobropillia transforming into a sprawling ruin, with the apartment block a gutted mess.

Kaja Kallas added, “We must step up our military support. Otherwise, even more Ukrainian civilians will pay the highest price.”

Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has been seeking to repair relations with President Donald Trump of the United States after their acrimonious White House meeting last month.

Zelenskyy said he is ready to sign a favourable minerals deal with the US.

Ukraine has suffered immensely from US decision to withdraw intelligence sharing with Kyiv and and freeze of weapons supply.

Just recently, North Korean and Russian troops broke through Ukraine’s defences in Russia’s Kursk region, where Ukrainian units have for seven months occupied a parcel of territory.
