Governor Yusuf seeks legislative support for state development

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has called on lawmakers in Kano State to prioritize legislation that drives development and improves the well-being of citizens.

Speaking during a special breakfast meeting with members of the State and National Assemblies from Kano, Governor Yusuf emphasized the need for collaboration between the executive and legislative arms of government to foster good governance, social welfare, and economic growth.

His spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, disclosed this in a statement, noting that the governor urged lawmakers to align their legislative agenda with his administration’s vision for a more prosperous Kano. He stressed that addressing challenges in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and security requires purposeful laws that support sustainable progress.

The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Jibril Ismail Falgore, commended Governor Yusuf for maintaining a productive relationship with the legislature.

Hon. Hassan Hussain, representing Nasarawa Federal Constituency, spoke on behalf of the National Assembly Caucus of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).

He reaffirmed lawmakers’ commitment to Kano’s progress, noting that they were facilitating key constituency projects to support the state’s development agenda.

The meeting provided a platform for open discussions on governance, legislative priorities, and strategies to accelerate Kano’s development.
