UCL: Ancelotti confirms double boost for Real Madrid ahead Atletico second leg

Real Madrid manager, Carlo Ancelotti, has confirmed that Thibaut Courtois and Jude Bellingham will be back for the second leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie against Atletico Madrid.

Courtois missed the 2-1 win over Rayo Vallecano due to a slight discomfort in his right patellar tendon.

Speaking with Real’s website, Ancelotti also said Bellingham is in good shape.

“Bellingham has come back in good shape. Courtois has a little problem, but I think he will recover quickly for Wednesday,“ Ancelotti said.

“Bellingham’s performance was good. As I said, I really liked the first half because we pressed high.

“We could have made it 3-0 after stealing possession, we played with intensity and quality. In the second half we dropped our level.”

Real Madrid emerged victorious in the first leg, winning 2-1 at the Bernabeu.

The current holders will need at least a draw to qualify for the quarter-finals.
