Nothing has changed — Fayemi debunks defection rumour

Former Governor of Ekiti State, Dr Kayode Fayemi, has dismissed reports suggesting his defection from the All Progressives Congress, APC.

In a post on his X handle on Monday, the former governor reaffirmed his commitment to the ruling party, stating that nothing had changed regarding his political allegiance.

He further clarified that his status as a “card-carrying foundation member” of the party remained intact.

Fayemi reiterated his call for greater internal democracy and inclusion within the APC, expressing optimism that the party could still “change course and move towards greater inclusivity.”

“As I have previously stated, I am a card-carrying foundation member of the APC, and this position has not changed.

“While I have been at the forefront of advocating for greater internal democracy and inclusion within our party, I believe it is still not too late for the APC to change course and embrace these values,” he said.
