Trump dismisses US recession fears

President Donald Trump has dismissed concerns that the United States is heading for a recession amid falling stock prices caused by the trade war.

The stock market decline on Monday continued into Tuesday following a new round of tariffs on Mexico, China, and Canada, which now faces additional surcharges.

Speaking at the White House as Elon Musk delivered Tesla vehicles at his request, Trump declared that America’s economy “is in for a boom.”

When asked whether the trade tariffs could lead to a broader economic downturn, Trump described them as “the hard way.”

“I don’t see a recession at all,” the President stated. “I can do it the easy way or the hard way. The hard way to do it is exactly what I’m doing.”

Trump reiterated his call for Canada to join the United States, claiming the country would no longer have to worry about security.

“Canada will be great as the 51st state. The people of Canada will pay less tax, and it makes more sense,” he said.

Trump also stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is welcome to return to the White House for talks whenever he is ready.
