Alleged defamation: Queeneth Hilbert sues IGP, Destiny Etiko for attempting to arrest her

Popular Nigerian actress, Queeneth Hilbert has sued the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun following an alleged attempt to arrest her.

Queeneth filed the fundamental human rights suit at the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos State.

In the lawsuit dated March 10, 2025, Hilbert accused the Nigeria police of attempting to arrest her at the instigation of her colleague and best friend, Destiny Etiko.

While describing the police attempt as “illegal, unlawful and flagrant” violation of her constitutional rights, she sought protection from arresting, detaining or interrogating her regarding the video she posted on her Instagram page on March 7.

Queeneth also seeks N100 million in damages for “unlawful invasion”.

The development came after Destiny Etiko filed a N100 million petition against Queeneth for defamation.

Media Talk Africa reports that Queeneth had in a now deleted video on her Instagram page, called out Etiko for allegedly snatching colleagues’ rich lovers, including her boyfriend.
