Cryptocurrency expert and executive chairman of software intelligence firm Microstrategy, Michael Saylor, said Strategic Bitcoin Reserve could earn the United States of America between $16 trillion and $81 trillion by 2045.
Saylor made this known in a proposal statement on Tuesday, urging the White House under President Donald Trump to embrace Bitcoin reserves.
According to him, making Bitcoin a national reserve would help the US Treasury to offset national debt and secure economic dominance.
“The Strategic Bitcoin Reserve (SBR) has the potential to generate $16-81 trillion in wealth for the U.S. Treasury by 2045, offering a viable pathway to offset the national debt.
“By 2045, the reserve should be generating $10+ trillion annually, continuously growing, and serving as a perpetual source of prosperity for the American people for generations to come,” he said.
How can Bitcoin generate $81 trillion for the US?
Saylor advocated that the US government acquire at least 5 percent of Bitcoin trust for American people.
“Acquire 5-25% of the Bitcoin network in trust for the nation through consistent, programmatic daily purchases between 2025 and 2035, when 99 percent of all BTC will have been issued.
“By 2045, the reserve should be generating $10+ trillion annually, continuously growing, and serving as a perpetual source of prosperity for the American people for generations to come,” he said.
This comes as Bitcoin on Tuesday dropped 3.2 percent to $79,937 after hitting a low of $76,624. Ethereum fell sharply by 7.5 percent to $1,911. The global crypto market cap declined 4.3 percent to $2.6 trillion.
Solana, XRP, Cardano and Dogecoin also suffered losses, with Dogecoin plunging 8.5 percent.
