Europa League: Fenerbahce tie not over — Dessers warns Rangers teammates

Cyriel Dessers has warned that Rangers cannot afford to relax despite their first leg advantage against Fenerbahce.

The Scottish Premiership giants defeated Fenerbahce 3-1 in the first leg.

Dessers was on target in the game with Vaclav Cerny bagging a brace.

Rangers will host Jose Mourinho’s side in the second leg at the Ibrox on Thursday.

The 30-year-old stated that it is important for the Light Blues to go in with positive mindset.

“We have put ourselves in a good position but we also know how good Fenerbahce are,” the Belgian-born Nigeria international told Sky Sports.

“They can be tricky. They have an exceptional manager and have had a few nice comeback stories in Europe. But we don’t want to be part of that.

“We know the way we want to go. We need to focus on our game. We need to focus on trying to score and not only stick in our mind that we have to defend, defend.”
