Kendrick Lamar breaks Beyoncé’s record on Billboard charts

Rapper Kendrick Lamar has broken the record for the most simultaneous #1s across Billboard charts in a single week, with 24.

Singer Beyoncé set the record two years ago with 23 #1s following the release of her critically acclaimed album, Renaissance.

Media Talk Africa reports that Kendrick Lamar has, since mid-last year, recorded a new level of commercial success following his hip-hop beef with Canadian rapper Drake.

His new album, GNX, is currently the number one album on the Billboard 200 chart.

His song Luther, featuring SZA, is number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for a third week.
