Chelsea agree deal to sign another Sporting Lisbon player after Geovany Quenda

Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign another Sporting Lisbon player, Dario Essugo after the midfielder agreed to a move to Stamford Bridge this summer.

The Premier League west London club had on Friday to wrap up a deal to sign Geovany Quenda from Sporting Lisbon, beating Manchester United to the 17-year-old’s signature.

The Blues will pay £41m to bring Quenda to Stamford Bridge with the youngster expected to remain in Sporting on loan next season before joining his new club in the summer of 2026.

However, according to CNN Portugal, Chelsea are poised to sign another Sporting youngster in Essugo.

The report added that a fee of around £18.5m has been agreed between both clubs for the 20-year-old who will sign a seven-year contract.

Essugo and Quenda have shown promise from a very early age in Portugal.

Essugo is currently on a season-long loan with Las Palmas from Sporting .

He has made 17 La Liga appearances for the Spanish club so far this term.

His performances in Spain further enhanced his reputation with Chelsea moving quickly to secure his signature.
