NPFL: Shooting Stars won’t give up on continental ticket – Ogunbote

Shooting Stars technical adviser Gbenga Ogunbote has declared his team’s intention to keep pushing for a continental ticket.

The Ibadan club suffered a disappointing 2-0 loss to Akwa United at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on Sunday.

Ogunbote’s side are now winless in their last seven league outings.

The Oluyole Warriors also dropped to sixth position on the log following the defeat.

Despite the latest setback, the gaffer is adamant his team will not give up on their quest for a continental ticket.

“We have nine matches to decide that. We have gone seven games without a win; it could be any other team. So when we pick up, maybe some other team will fizzle out. We will give it a fight until the end,” Ogunbote told the club’s media.

Shooting Stars will next face Remo Stars in the South West derby on Saturday.
