Rivers: Appeal Court sets aside 2015 judgement that sacked APC LG chairmen

The trial of Timileyin Ajayi, the prime suspect in the murder of 24-year-old National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member Salome Adaidu, has officially commenced in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Ajayi, who was arraigned before Justice Simon Aboki of the High Court of Justice in January, pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder.

Security operatives had found Adaidu’s severed head in his possession, with other dismembered parts of her body discovered at his residence.

He is facing a one-count charge of Culpable Homicide Punishable with Death, under Section 221 of the Penal Code Law of Northern Nigeria.

The court has adjourned the case, scheduling the continuation of the trial from March 17 to March 20, 2025.
