EPL: Aribo ‘ashamed’ of Southampton’s position

Southampton midfielder, Joe Aribo says the Saints’ current league position is embarrassing.

Ivan Juric’s side occupy the bottom spot on the log and are set for a return to the Sky Bet Championship.

Southampton lost 2-1 at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers at the St Mary’s Stadium last Saturday.

The defeat to Wolves widened the gap to safety to 17 points.

Aribo declared that he is ashamed of their position on the table.

“I’m going to speak for myself personally, of course, it’s embarrassing. We play football to win,” the Nigeria international told the Daily Echo.

I’m a winner and it’s just a difficult time in my career for me, obviously, with what’s going on with results. I think the boys have to stick together.
