2026 WCQ: Amavubi duo leave camp after father's death

Amavubi duo Fitina Omborenga and Yunusu Omborenga have been excused from the team’s camp following the death of their father.

Fitina and his younger brother, Yunusu, according to New Times, trained with Amavubi on Monday morning.

The players departed at night after being informed that their father had passed away earlier in the day.

Head coach Adel Amrouche now has 26 players at his disposal.

It is uncertain whether the two players will return to the team before Friday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Rwanda will also host the Crocodiles of Lesotho at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali next Tuesday.
