Kogi: Rainstorms wreak havoc on FGGC Kabba

A severe rainstorm has caused extensive destruction at the Federal Government Girls’ College, FGGC, Kabba, with significant damage reported.

The Principal of the college, Mrs Olayinka Amosun Eniola, confirmed the incident to Media Talk Africa, stating that no lives were lost during the storm.

The Chairman of the Parents-Teachers Association, PTA, High Chief Shuaib Ipinmisho, led other Executive Committee members on an on-the-spot assessment of the damage caused by the disaster.

Ipinmisho, who also serves as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kogi State Governor on Land Matters, described the extent of the destruction as “worrisome and massive,” stressing that it was beyond the immediate capacity of the PTA and the college management to repair.

“We are appealing to well-meaning Nigerians, non-governmental organisations, and the Federal Ministry of Education for urgent assistance during this challenging time,” he stated.

FGGC Kabba, located in Kogi State, is a federal government post-primary educational institution managed by the Federal Ministry of Education.
