NPFL: Lawal urges Shooting Stars players to improve

Shooting Stars General Manager, Dimeji Lawal, has expressed his disappointment over the team’s poor run of form in the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL.

The Oluyole Warriors have failed to secure a win in their last six league matches and now sit in sixth position on the table.

Lawal urged the players to step up their performance and approach the task ahead with greater seriousness and commitment.

“Guys, we need to tell ourselves the truth. This is not the kind of team (Akwa United) that should be defeating us, but we just fell into their hands,” he was quoted as saying by the club’s media.

“In the past few games, some of you have not been putting in your best to justify the efforts of the Technical Adviser, the coaching crew, and the management,” Lawal told the players.

“We have raised the hopes of our people, and just when they were beginning to believe in us, we are letting them down.

“All these setbacks can be attributed to the attitude of some of you, and I want to advise you to step up and approach this challenge with utmost seriousness.”
