UCL: Mikel Merino reveals what Arsenal players are asking him about Real Madrid

Arsenal star, Mikel Merino has revealed that his teammates have been asking about Real Madrid ahead of their UEFA Champions League, UCL, quarter-final tie next month.

Arsenal have reached the Champions League last-8 following an impressive 9-3 aggregate win over PSV in the last-16 stage.

They will face Real Madrid in the last-8 in April after the Los Blancos defeated, Atletico in the last-16.

However, Merino has now revealed that Real Madrid’s ‘aura’ in the Champions League has been the talk of Arsenal’s dressing room ahead of both sides’ clash.

“They [Arsenal teammates] ask me what the stadium [Santiago Bernabeu] is like, what the atmosphere is like, if the aura surrounding Real Madrid in the Champions League and their comebacks are true,” Merino told Onda Cero.

“And of course, when they have done it so many times, that is the image people have of them.

“That aura that Real Madrid has in the Champions League, of comebacks, of heroics, is no coincidence, when they do it so often.”

The Spain international added, “Talking about favourites is very difficult because the Champions League shows you that the details make the difference.

“There are three or four teams that can be considered favourites, but you can’t just pick one.”

Real Madrid are the current holders of the Champions League after beating Borussia Dortmund in the final last year.
