2026 WCQ: Chelle gives Super Eagles a lot of instructions – Troost-Ekong

Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong has revealed that new head coach Eric Chelle has given the team a lot of instructions ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Troost-Ekong spoke to NFF TV ahead of Nigeria’s clash with Rwanda on Friday, providing an update on the team’s preparation.

“He [Eric Chelle] has given us a lot of instructions. For us, it’s just about making sure we understand what he wants from us on Friday and what we are working towards,” Troost-Ekong said.

“These are the key moments when you have to stand up, but none of us is afraid of that. Like I said, this pressure is a privilege for all of us.”

The Super Eagles have struggled against Rwanda in recent matches.

They have failed to secure a win in their last two meetings against Rwanda.

The Super Eagles currently sit in fifth position in the World Cup Group C qualifying table, behind Rwanda, South Africa, Benin Republic, and Lesotho.

They have three points from four matches and are yet to win a game in the group.
