Naira depreciates across official, black FX markets

The naira remained stable against the dollar at the parallel foreign exchange market on Thursday.

Data provided by Abubakar Alhasan, a Bureau de Change operator in Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, confirmed to Media Talk Africa that the naira closed at N1,585 per dollar on Thursday, the same rate as on Wednesday.

However, the naira depreciated slightly at the official FX market on Thursday.

Exchange rate data from the Central Bank of Nigeria showed a marginal drop of N0.1, with the naira closing at N1,530.62 per dollar on Thursday, down from N1,530.52 the previous day.

It is worth noting that the naira had appreciated against the dollar for the first time this week on Wednesday.
