Rwanda vs Nigeria: Super Eagles receive huge boost

Super Eagles forward Tolu Arokodare has revealed that he and his team-mates have received a huge boost from head coach Eric Chelle’s confidence in the team.

Arokodare, who earned his maiden call-up to the Super Eagles under Chelle, spoke ahead of Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Rwanda on Friday.

Chelle’s side will face Rwanda on Friday evening at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.

Speaking to Nigerian reporters in Kigali ahead of the game, Arokodare said: “The coach has brought a lot of confidence and has shown us how much belief he has in us. That is a huge boost for the team.

“He is a very confident coach with a plan—he knows what he wants and how he wants to play.

“When you are playing under a coach like that, you know exactly what you have to do. It is pretty simple and straightforward.”

Nigeria are yet to win a game in the qualifiers in Group C.

They currently sit in fifth place in the group, only ahead of bottom-placed Zimbabwe.
