2026 World Cup qualifier: ‘Mission Kigali done’ – Super Eagles react to 2-0 win over Rwanda

The Super Eagles reacted to their 2-0 victory over Rwanda in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday.

In a post on X after the game, Eric Chelle’s side expressed their delight at overcoming Rwanda in Kigali in front of their supporters.

“Mission Kigali done. Onto the next one,” the Super Eagles posted on X, alongside a picture of Osimhen with the match result.

Media Talk Africa reports that Victor Osimhen scored both goals against Rwanda.

The Galatasaray striker opened the scoring with a side-footed finish from Ademola Lookman’s free-kick.

The 26-year-old then doubled the Super Eagles’ advantage after stealing the ball on the halfway line and dinking it over the Rwanda goalkeeper.

The result moves Nigeria up to third place in Group C, following South Africa’s 2-0 win over Lesotho.

The Super Eagles will now face Zimbabwe in their next World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
