2026 WCQ: Arokodare in tears after making Super Eagles debut against Rwanda

Genk forward, Tolu Arokodare, was in tears after making his debut for the Super Eagles on Friday.

Arokodare was introduced in the second half of the 2026 World Cup qualifier against Rwanda in Kigali.

The 24-year-old has been one of Nigeria’s highest-scoring strikers in Europe this season, with 19 goals and five assists across all competitions for Thorsten Fink’s side.

His impressive form earned him a place in new Eagles boss Eric Chelle’s final 23-man squad for the qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.

Arokodare replaced two-goal hero Victor Osimhen in the closing minutes of the game.

After the match, he broke down in tears in the locker room, overwhelmed by emotions as the magnitude of his achievement sank in.
