2026 WCQ, African zone: Full results of Friday’s matches

Media Talk Africa brings you the results of the Match Day 5 of the 2026 World Cup qualifier in the African zone played on Friday.

In Group C, Nigeria defeated Rwanda 2-0 in Kigali.

Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen scored the two goals for the Super Eagles in the first-half.

The results moved Eric Chelle’s side to fourth position in the table with six points.

In the other Group C encounter played on Friday, South Africa won 2-0 against Lesotho to top the group.

In Group G, Botswana lost 1-3 against Algeria.

In Group H, Equatorial Guinea won 2-0 against São Tomé and Príncipe.

In Group A, Burkina Faso thrashed Djibouti 4-1.

In Group B, DR Congo defeated South Sudan 1-0.

In Group G, Burundi lost 0-1 against Côte d’Ivoire while Ghana won 5-0 against Chad and Guinea played 0-0 with Somalia.

In Group A, Ethiopia lost 0-1 against Egypt

Finally in Group E, Niger lost 1-2 against 2025 AFCON hosts Morocco.

Meanwhile, more matches will be played today as Sudan will tackle Senegal and Togo will face Mauritania.
