Radio Niger seeks dedicated power supply from AEDC

The newly appointed General Manager of Radio Niger, Mohammed Kolo, has appealed to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, to provide a dedicated power supply to the station’s transmission station at Maitumbi and office complex on Shiroro Road, Minna.

Kolo lamented that the station has faced challenges of erratic power supply, hindering its activities.

The GM Radio Niger made this appeal during a courtesy alongside his management team to the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company AEDC, Niger Regional Office in Minna.

He emphasized that power supply is crucial for media organizations, and Radio Niger cannot afford to fail in its mission to inform, educate, and entertain the public.

Kolo pleaded with AEDC to show love to Radio Niger by providing a special consideration of power supply to enable seamless transmission.

Chief Business Officer of AEDC Niger Region, Engr Dr Samuel Odekina in his response, disclosed that AEDC plans to provide Radio Niger Maitumbi with 12-16 hours of power supply daily.

He also granted 10 hours of power supply to Radio Niger FM station, Maitumbi, for effective information dissemination.

Odekina described Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago as a friend of the power sector, citing his heavy investment in infrastructure development while promising 12 hours of power supply to the state daily.
