Super Eagles: NFF warns against fake Eric Chelle’s X account

The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, has issued a public disclaimer warning against fake social media X account impersonating head coach of Super Eagles, Eric Chelle.

In a post on Super Eagles’ X account on Saturday night, the NFF clarified that Chelle does not have an account on X (formerly Twitter).

It noted that any account claiming to be the Malian on the platform is fake.

“Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, does not have an X account. His only official social media presence is on Instagram: [@eric_chelle],” the post read.

“Please be advised that Super Eagles Head Coach, Eric Chelle, does not possess an X account. Exercise caution and be wary of scams or any misleading information.” the post added.

The warning is coming amid growing concerns about misinformation and fraudulent activities on X, where fake accounts often spread misleading content regarding Chelle.

Chelle’s men will take on Zimbabwe in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday.
