Super Falcons forward Gift Monday is on the verge of completing a move to Major League Soccer, MLS, outfit Washington Spirit.
Monday signed a new three-year contract with Spanish Liga F side UD Tenerife last September but is now set for a move away from the club.
According to Spanish news outlet MARCA, Washington Spirit have already submitted an offer to Tenerife for the player.
The striker has a β¬200,000 release clause in her contract, but Tenerife are reportedly demanding a higher fee.
Monday has been in fantastic form for her club this season, registering 10 goals and three assists in 19 league outings.
The 23-year-old was named Liga F Player of the Month in February.
She joined Tenerife from Nigeria Womenβs Football League (NWFL) side FC Robo Queens in 2022.
